My incredible upbringing
I was born at home into the peace and comfort of my parent’s macrobiotic house.
Early on my siblings and I were immersed early into the world of natural foodies. My dad, Tim Redmond, co-founded Eden Foods, building a successful distribution system for natural foods and changing the landscape of food in America forever.
My mom was very intentional in the raising of their four kids - sewing our clothes, growing our food, and cooking everything from scratch. We lived in a healthy home with solar panels and a wood-burning stove as our sole source of heat. I joke that our successes, failures and daily moods were said to stem from what we’d had for breakfast.
While other kids spent the 80s in technicolor leg warmers, I turned compost piles and weeded our organic veggie patches, acutely aware that we were a part of something big with dad on track to “save the world through healthier food.”
I took what I learned as a kid to TVs all over
In 2005, after a successful early career as an Emmy-winning TV producer and news anchor, I shot a pilot for a TV series that was about all the things I had learned growing up – natural foods, healthy homes and graceful living. The Discovery Networks picked it up and Living Fresh premiered the following year. I was called the Queen of Green and the Eco Martha Stewart. The next year my second Discovery series, Get Fresh with Sara Snow, premiered. I started traveling the globe highlighting products that were making healthy living accessible and teaching people about the small changes they could make to start living fresh.
Another TV series and my first book comes out
By 2009 I had hosted two different series for the Discovery Networks, was hosting a regular segment for CNN.com, a new show called Big Green Lies for the Fine Living Channel and was releasing my first book, Sara Snow’s Fresh Living. My favorite part through all of it was anytime I had direct contact with someone who had made small changes, was living a healthier life because of something I had taught them, and had never felt happier or healthier.
I loved connecting with live audiences
I began serving as spokesperson for numerous large brands (Reynolds, Clorox, Johnson & Johnson, Softlips, Physician’s Formula, and more) as they launched their own cleaner product lines and began their first forays into the natural products consumer space.
I served on the board of The Organic Center and later joined the board of Vitamin Angels to help provide lifesaving nutrients to at-risk mothers and babies around the globe.
Staying in touch with moms
I began finding other way to connect with women - the ones who seem to have the hardest time creating and sticking to their health goals. I consulted (and still do) with companies focused solving problems for women, I led small groups, volunteered in my community, and eventually started a coaching practice teaching all of the same stuff I’ve aways been focused on - health, wellness, mindfulness, sustainability and graceful, grace-filled living.
