4 or 5 potatoes – washed and grated
1 small onion – peeled and very finely diced
1 egg – whisked
1 tablespoon flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons butter or canola oil


After you’ve grated your potatoes, press them in a towel and drain any excess moisture.
Mix into the potatoes the remaining ingredients, except the butter or oil. Add more flour if needed to form a batter-like consistency.
In a frying pan, heat the butter or oil. Form small patties the size of your palm and lightly fry a few minutes on each side.
