We know breakfast is the most important meal of the day but it is often hard to prepare when you are pressed for time. Here are a few easy options that will provide you with energy to start your day. This fall as you get the kids back to school, put your health first by making a healthy breakfast a top priority!

Fruit and Cheese Combo

Great for the mom who has to grab and go, an apple and sharp cheese is a quick morning meal. The combination of fiber and protein will jump start your metabolism and ward off hunger.

Almond Butter Waffles

Frozen, high fiber, whole grain, organic waffles are a great option for early mornings. Top with your favorite nut butter, a few chia or flax seeds, and you have an easy out-the-door meal.

Homemade Egg Muffin

If actually using the stove and dirtying a frying pan in the morning has you missing out on a nutrient-rich egg breakfast, then try this recipe.  Lightly spray a microwave safe bowl with an organic cooking spray, such as canola oil, and pour ½ cup egg whites into the bowl. Microwave, covered, for one minute while toasting a whole grain English muffin in the toaster. When both the egg and muffin are cooked, add a slice of organic low fat cheese and you have the perfect egg muffin!

Fruit Smoothie

Combine your ingredients in the blender before bed and all you have to do is push start in the morning! For great smoothie ideas visit the recipes tab.  Here is one of Sara’s favorites: Healthy Fruit Smoothie

Fruit Parfait

Combine your favorite fruits, ½ cup of Greek yogurt, and 2 Tablespoons of slivered almonds for a refreshing breakfast to start your day.
