I recently received the most wonderful baby gift…. courtesy of the artist herself!
Katie O’Neill started her company, KT Steppers, in 2008. Like many of her customers, Katie is a mother, raising two small children ages 5 and 3 now. She struggled with the desire to stay home and raise her family, as well as longing to work outside the home to help with the financials. So she started her company, a children's inspired business, since that is whom she spends her days, hours and minutes with.
The first "stepper" was conceived when a family member was looking for something unique and personal for her best friend's son. Katie found there was a great need for that "special something" to give as a gift for a birth, birthday, the new "big" brother or sister, or to add a personal touch to a baby registry item.
KT Steppers can now be found in celebrity nurseries belonging to Jason Priestly, Natalie Morales, Tori Spelling, Denise Richards and so many others. I’m honored to have one myself!
Today, Katie makes a variety of steppers in all sorts of customizable colors and designs. She even makes a “chalk top” stepper that allows you (or your little one) to write your own messages on top.
The Cricket Steppers are made from Parawood or ‘rubberwood’ which is prized as an environmentally friendly wood as it makes use of plantation grown trees that have been cut down at the end of their latex-producing cycle. And all of Katie’s paints are non-toxic and water-based.
All of that adds up to the perfect baby gift!

Our Cricket Stepper are made from Parawood or 'rubberwood'. It is also prized as an "environmentally friendly" wood, as it makes use of plantation grown trees that have been cut down at the end of their latex-producing cycle. The paints I use are completely Non-Toxic and ALL water-based. Thus, making for a perfect fit into eco-friendly homes.
